Hi ladies!
What a break we have had but it is now time to get down to business!!! The final race is this Friday, 9-10-10. At this time, we have 28 pre-signed up for the race.
Please check where you are at in the Sweet 16 line up on the Firebird website and do not miss your chance to qualify!!
Here is a list of the first 16 in points.
Following is the ladies who are already signed up for this Friday's race:
Gina Luckow, Valmarie Griffiths, Julie Hart, Mary Liese, Karen Carrington, Rose Shaw, Sharlene Lancaster,
Tessa Lancaster, Pamela Lottman, Shannon Dougal, Doris Twitty, Christine Mihalisko, Megan Mihalisko,
Jessica Hoffman, Wendy Rick, Jan Shawver, Kristi Shawver, Cheryl Hering, Marj Spindler, Marcia Randall,
Debbie Phillips, Heather Jaycox, Deana Bullington, Jackie Page, Lyndsey Deatry, Melissa Jarboe, Lisa Johnson,
and Lisa Thomas.
I will be taking any additional on a 1st come 1st serve basis but will also consider individual point standings. Please also keep in mind that we have several gals that are on "stand by" that would jump at any invitation to race the last club race of the season! Shoulders high and proud.....we ARE the Naughty Girls!!!
Lisa T.
In fact, we even had a late arriver that almost didn’t make the 1st round. The Naughty girls were scrambling for pants and shoes for Brandee and she made it into the 1 round running cold. No time run and not knowing what her car will run. She did great. We want to thank those who helped in the the LAST second to get her into the #5 bracket. And to Brandee, thank you for making the field a 31 count.
Our weather was not to boast about. It started at almost 100* and a slight breeze up the track. And by the time it was first round, the winds started to pick up changing to a tail wind. The thunder clouds were moving in from the south and lightning was all around the track, a great show in the air, and a great show on the track.
Cars that were slow during the time trials were now breaking out. If you knew your car, you could dial for it, if not, it was a good guess. Sad to state, the Naughty Girls are still in 2nd place. Trailing by several points. But, lets give the PSI a run for their money.
Congratulations to:
Julie Hart in Bracket 1 for going to the finals. Taking 2nd was a great feat!
Lisa Thomas making it to the semi’s in bracket 3.
Jessica Hoffman and Lyndsey Deatry for making it to the quarters in bracket 5.
The “FRIENDSHIP PLATE” was handed down from Marcia Randell to Val Griffiths, on the 4th of July.
And Val handed the plate off to Megan Mihalisko because she’s a great gal.
Our RED light fund is not as bad as in the past. We have been averaging 3 red lights a race. And our NG count has been up as well. We have been averaging 29 gals each race. That’s great…let’s keep it up for the last race in September.
We have only 1 club race left…September 10th. Gates open at 2 pm and racing begins at 6:30.
(Or earlier, pending on the weather / News)
Those of you who have pre-signed up, thank you. For those of you who are still undecided….look at the points on
the Firebird web site. We will need a 32 car field, to even keep up our standing.
“Hay…Kristi…watch out for the first step, it’s a doozy!”
Kristi was stepping out of the trailer and twisted her ankle real bad. So bad that she quoted:
“Took a step out of my trailer and just ended up rolling my ankle and met the ground. It is very badly
sprained and have to be off it for a while.”
Safety is always something we need to watch. Everyone needs to pay attention to their surroundings, cars, trailer cables and steps. Please everyone be careful.
See everyone on SEPTEMBER 10TH!!!
Hi ladies!!
Below are the list of names that have already pre-entered for the next race. If you see your name and do NOT plan on attending, let me know ASAP so someone else can jump in. If you do NOT see your name on the list but would like to attend, let me know so I can jot you down as an alternate.
It does appear, at this time, to be a hot one so plan accordingly to stay hydrated. As the web update stated, the "pot" from the last race will roll over to this race so it should be sizeable!!
Debbie Phillips, Lyndsey Deatry, Marcia Randall, Julie Hart, Lisa Thomas, Karen Carrington, Tessa Lancaster, Sharlene Lancaster, Valmarie Griffiths, Pamela Lottman, Rose Shaw, Melissa Jarboe, Mary Liese, Jan Shawver, Kristi Shawver, Aimee Dines, Jessica Hoffman, Christine Mihalisko, Megan Mihalisko, Shannon Dougal, Deana Bullington, Cheryl Hering, Hether Jaycox, Marj Spindler, Patty Kubitschek, Jackie Page, Gina Luckow, Sue Reynolds, and Lynde Fischer.
Stay cool everyone and see you all on Friday,
Lisa T.
Boy it was a night filled with surprises!!
30 gals arrived to do battle with the other clubs, but "MOTHER NATURE" was making a battle of her own. Winds blowing up to 18 mph at one point of time. Slowing down the race for a short time. Then the rain came, at first it was a small amount, nothing really to get upset over, then after an hour of racing, it came in buckets. All the weather stations & wind gauges were working overtime. At this time the NEWS decided to cancel the race and choose the winners of each bracket by "BEST PACKAGE" that is why, you should always have your GAME on!
CONGRATULATIONS to those who had a great package. Sad to say, the Naughty Girls didn't make any bracket. Some were close...but not close enough.
Each racer received their 3 points for arriving and their 10 points for going to the next round. Some brackets had 2 rounds under their belts,
and some only had 1 round completed.
The phrase of the night was "BRAIN FART".
Most of the time you would like the brain fart to occure in time trials. It could range anywhere from the RED LIGHT to leaving in 2nd gear. Or as important as forgetting your helmit and jacket at the trailer. What do you classify a brain fart?
The gremlins were still haunting some team members this night as well.
Christine Mihalisko, had a big bad gremlin. The seal in her transmission blew out and had to resort to her 3 tons of fun....the dually.
Even some gals had gremlins in their carburetors;. Those darn plastic adjustment brackets, they do break off; eventually. Or do they?
With the first skiff of rain, Troy decided to place the table of food in the trailer. Good thing, or our wonderful salads, cookies....... and KFC? would of been watered down.
A word from our president:
Ladies, we need to have you sign in once you have been tech'd. This is to let us know who is here and who is not. So we can keep track of points
and to see if we need to call in replacements. Thanks to Gina, for she lives just down the road. Came at the "spur of a moment". We needed another
gal to fill a spot on the team. Still came up short, but this is why we need you to sign the roster when you arrive or after you are tech'd in.
Once you are at the roster sheet, sign the "reserved" sheet if you plan on racing at the next race. Even if your not sure.......and you are plannng on coming. If your plans happen to change, call Lisa or shoot her a email. So we can call in the Calvary.
Since we didn't get to complete the rounds, we are going to take the "KITTY" and roll it over to the next club challenge.
NEXT CLUB RACE: AUG 6 (Presigned is showing 29 gals.)
Call or email your reservation today!
Hi ladies!!
Club race is fast approaching on July 2nd. Listed below is everyone that has pre-signed up. Please let me know as soon as possible
if you are not able to attend as I do have alternates that would love to jump in!
Sharlene Lancaster, Lisa Thomas, Gina Luckow, Rose Shaw, Julie Hart, Karen Carrington, Valmarie Griffiths, Melissa Jarboe, Tessa Lancaster, Marcia Randall, Aimee Dines, Wendy Rae Rick, Kristi Shawver, Jan Shawver, Mary Liese, Jessica Hoffman, Pamela Lottman, Patty Kubitschek, Doris Twitty, Deana Bullington, Lyndsey Deatry, Heather Jaycox, Christine Mihalisko, Megan Mihalisko, Shannon Dougal, Jackie Page, Cheryl Hering, Lisa Johnson, Sue Reynolds, Lynde Fischer, and Jennifer Barr.
I come up with 31 total......it is going to be a warm one I am pretty sure so prepare accordingly. Maybe some cool sides to go with our b-b-q?
See you all on the 2nd if not before!
Lisa T.

This was a great weekend. The weather was great. No rain, warm short’s weather and reconnecting with friends from afar.
FRIDAY: We had 23 gals arrive to play. 2 time trials were given to the drivers, and those who arrive late got 1 time trial. Some of the girls raced in 2 classes and were hot lapped. The Firebird officials did their best to be fair on the classes, but all in time, you’d get stuck in a decision.
FRIDAY’S FINAL MATCH:
Brittany Alley vs Stephanie Meiman
with Stephanie Meiman taking the win.

SATURDAY: We had 25 gals arrive for the Fox Eliminator. It was a gorgeous day and we got to do something that is most rare, 3 time trials. Most of the competitors were wearing tank tops and shorts. You cannot drive this way, so everyone had to dawn the pull up pants, which are anything from NHRA approved driving pants and jacket to cotton PJ bottoms and their hubbys over sized shirt. There were some S.L.U.T.’S (STARTING LINE UTILITY TECH’S) wearing their shirts with pride, helping any gal in need. Either, with their tire pressure, a question on what to dial, or an occasional potty break. (sheez, They’d help move the car down the staging lane when the time came, until the gal arrived back.) This often occurs when there is oil down or a starting line clean up.
SATURDAY’S FINAL MATCH:
Julie Hart VS Aimee Dines
With Julie Hart taking the win.
We want to thank the following for their support and donations to the Naughty Girls Fox Eliminator.
Other news:
Special thanks to Stephen Milhalisko for manning the T-shirt booth and taking photos of the gals in competition.
We’d like to give the “BOOBIE AWARDS” to Megan Milhalisko, for a .738 Did she forget to place a wakeup call?
And the worst light goes to Deana Bullington, -.259 (Red Light)
But on the good side, we saw some great runs, girls with 000 lights, great ET’s, and awesome racing. Proving that: GIRLS DO HAVE FUN!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL COMPETITORS.
MARK YOU CALENDER FOR 2011 FOX HUNT, AND INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO JOIN US ON THE TRACK.
OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY...SUNSHINE AND NO RAIN, at least that was the forcast. But, as it would go, Firebird started early. The wind was a very big factor in this day's race. Break-outs were inevidiable.
But that's not all that was a factor, the gremlins were doing their best to get into everything and anything they could to discourage the girls. We had Carborators sticking, we had header bolts coming out of their respective holes, and studs stripping. (Get your head out of the gutter) these studs are on the wheels.
We need to put out a BIG thanks to our S.L.U.T. team members. They did every thing they could to control those mean gremlins. Even bringing another car up to the track so the Naughty Girl could race.
And did we RACE!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE GIRLS...... All 30 of you!
We had girls going to the 1/4's and finals in each and every bracket. Here are the results of Friday's wind-blown race:
BRAKET 1: 1/4's - Julie Hart
BRAKET 2: FINALIST AND WINNER - LISA JOHNSON

(Firebird photo)
(Lisa Johnson in braket 2)
BRAKET 3: FINALIST AND WINNER - KRISTI SHAWVER
BRAKET 4: Semi's: Patty Kubitschek
BRAKET 5: FINALIST AND WINNER - GINA LUCKOW, 1/4's: Jan Shawver and Tessa Lancaster
Round after round these gals went, and any competitor who went up against them...had a good fight on their hands. The wind played havic on the dials and slowed some cars down and some cars, it didn't matter.

GREAT TURN OUT…AGAIN !
We had 31 gals at the 2nd club challenge. The weather wasn’t the best to be racing in….with the wind at our noses, and dodging some ugly rain busters, we still had a great evening of racing Even though, Firebird started early, our team was ready to challenge all comers when the call was put out.
CONGRADULATIONS:
LISA JOHNSON! Bracket 2 winner! She won by taking out Tim Shaw, late in the evening, going all the way to win the “POT” as well.
Also in Bracket 2, Rose Shaw survived through the quarters and ALL of the ladies in Bracket #2 won first round!!

In Brackets 4 & 5, BRA’S OFF to Patty Kubitscheck and Tessa Lancaster. Both pursued those prized points through the semis. They stood off great competitors to reach the goal.
We are currently #2 in the points. Right behind PSI and a VERY close 3 to the Melba Outlaws. We have lots of points to gather in the next few races. It’s going to be hard and rewarding at the same time, but we can do it.

Debbie Phillips was the recipient of the friendship platter!!
OTHER NEWS:
FOX HUNT “Get the word out, it’s coming FAST”!
June 18 & 19 (Friday and Saturday)
If you have a chance, you need to stop down at the Sport Shop and check out one of the guilt’s being donated to the winners of the 2 day event. Jackie out does herself every year. The baskets are built and still could use any other gifts you can come up with.
Awesome! Did I say AWESOME, the side dishes were just out of this world. Send those recipes to Deana. For publishing on the web, so others can make them, to try with their families and summer parties.
NEXT CLUB RACE: “JUNE 11, 2010” For those who signed up at the race, please be sure to communicate to Lisa if you are a GO or a NO. We had 29 gals signed up, leaving 3 spots left! Let’s get a full team again, and get those precious points.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let Christine know!!
Thanks,
Lisa T.
Hey ladies also Fox Hunt is nearing and I am having no luck with getting donations to the winner and runner-up baskets.
If you know of any businesses that would like to contribute. anything money, merchandise, free oil changes, fun toys, car things.
Let me know and I will contact them and try to get them on board with our FUN and FOXY Fox Eliminator.
See ya all on friday

Can't believe the time got away from me the way it did and Friday is almost here!! We already have a full field and if you pre-signed up at the last race and can't be there, please let me know ASAP as there are others that will gladly take your place. If you did not pre-sign up at the last race, let me know if you would like to race and I can put your name on stand-by. If you need confirmation........I can do that too!
Once again, I apologize for the time frame....see you Friday for the girls to KICK SOME A**!
Bring your favorite side dish to go with cookie's "weiners and chorizos"
Lisa T.
CONGRAT'S GO OUT TO: ROSE SHAW for going the most rounds, all the way to the final and Shannon Dougal and Tessa Lancaster for going to the quarter's in their bracket.
Almost all the runs were great, but not great enough for the win. Whether you raced with slicks or street tires, (or down the center of the track). The track was doing it's best so we had to do our best. Mother Nature had given us a great day to play, with a tad bit of wind...but none the less, it was great racing weather.
Some of you hadn't been to the track since the Halloween Classic and wasn't aware of the new staging rules. Here is the new staging rules if you missed
the first club race.
"If you require water to do a burn out, you MUST go THROUGH the water box. If you do NOT require a burn out in the water box, then go AROUND the box."
This will eliminate the backing up process and help speed up the burn outs.
Deana was taking photos of several gals and thier rides, it you have a photo of you and your ride and would like Rose to get it on the web site, please send it to Rose at: tlrmshaw@cableone.net and she will do her best to get it posted.
We like to send out a great big thank you to all who brought goodies. We had everything from "COOKIES BEST DOGS" to salads, cookies and lets not forget the pistacheo pies. All of which contain NO caleries. What will the next club race bring?
For those who have signed up for the next club race at Lisa's trailer, be sure to communicate if you are still a go or a no; and if its a no, try and give Lisa a few day's or two to locate any one else who may want to race in your place. The more gilrs we have at a race, the more points on the board, and the more round wins. So far we have 27 gals signed up.
The FOX HUNT is coming real fast. If you have some time to donate, and you would like to help Christine M. you can contact her at: hercuda@msn.com to lend a hand. And spread the word....lets break last years record.
It was a great first race, we have new rides, new clubs to kick butts and new friends to meet.....or beat! Lets make 2010 our year to shine.

NEXT CLUB RACE, IS MAY 21ST!
The long winter is over......everyone wake up and BELIEVE AND BE SAFE
April 23rd is right around the corner and I already have 23 names on the list for the 1st race.
Please let me know ASAP if you plan on being there and/or have any questions.
Tomorrow is the kick off to the racing season and I will be checking my email on Monday!
Hope to hear from you soon,
Lisa T.
Please check the website for updates if you were unable to attend the last meeting.

Our new slogan for the year is

Just want to recap on our meeting. Not much has changed since last few years, but I will just go over some pointers as well.
Now, the “FOX HUNT” updates. June 18-19
We want to thank Christine and Jan for taking on this great task. As in the past, we will be awarding baskets and Fox’s to the winners and runner ups.
Jackie is making some beautiful quilts, as last year, they were gorgeous. We will need volunteers to help make the “FOX’s” for those who make it past
1st round. We also need everyone to start letting the word out now, that the “FOX Eliminator” is for all women who can drive. Any car, be it a minivan,
truck, smart car, or bus. There is NO experience needed for this race. Just come and have fun.
We will be having a meeting later in May to get everything lined up. Watch for an update.
If you hadn’t heard yet, on the first “Test n Tune Spring Warm up”, Sharlene Lancaster had a very terrible experience. Her Beautiful 1935 Blue 5 window Coupe had a nasty tumble down the track on one of her passes. She walked away from the tumble, thanks for her angels. But, the vehicle, sad to say, didn’t make it. It’s going to take some time before it returns to the track. But Sharlene, ….with angels on her side, she will return.
We want to wish “Congratulations” to Molly Wingert. She received the “Women of the Year” award for the City of Boise. Her “Computers for Kids” is doing great. Any old or not in use computers around your office or home, take them to “The computers for kids” and they will refurbish it and make it available for a child who doesn’t have one.
For this New Year, we wish to welcome a few new members to our club, Marsha and Debbie. They come into open arms from the Bow Tie Bandits. Watch out, they’re taken names and earning points.
And, last but not least……bring goodies to share. We always welcome great treats.(And a recipe would be great too).
Hi my lovely ladies!!
Finally.......a meeting has been scheduled for just you gals! I know that Saturdays are not good for some of you but as schedules worked out.....Sundays have been ruled out for April. The place is at the Computer's for Kids building on Saturday April 10th at 6:00p.m. I will try to keep this short as there is the open test session on the 11th.
We will discuss "business", web site, t-shirts, member fees, sportsmanship, and a new motto for 2010.
BELIEVE is the motto that has been suggested (a good one) and if anyone has any other suggestions or ideas
for the 2010 racing season....please bring them.
If you want to bring a finger food for munchies and your own drinks, that would be fine.
If you are not able to make it to this meeting but plan on racing on 4-23, please let me know now so we can start a sign up list!!
Hope everyone can make it......I think 2010 could be our year to shine!!!
